Kelpie
2025 Reefscape Robot
Our 2025 robot, Kelpie, was the most complex and challenging robot we’ve ever built and went through several iterations as the season progressed. Kelpie put up a great performance this season, being a finalist and alliance captain at SFR and EBR and appearing on the first alliance at OCR!

- 29.5"x29.5" for incresed stability
- MK4n swerve modules with Krakens & L2+ gearing
Superstructure
- Riveted gusset and tubing construction

Elevator + Carriage
Elevator
- 2"x1" for stability at high extention
- Outside faces pocketed for weight reduction
Carriage
- Virtual 4-Bar powered by 2 Kraken X60s on MaxPlanetary gearboxes
- Allowes motors for arm and wrist motions to be housed on the carriage
Climber
- Two polycarbonate arms on a winch powered by a Kraken X60 on a 125:1 MaxPlanetary gearbox
- Deployed via torsion springs, winched in via strap on a powered spool
- Foot is depoyed by torsion springs
- 1/8th Polycarbonate wings to allow for easy alignment with the deep cage
End Effector
- Chain driven pivot with motor in carriage
- Ground pickup for Coral and Algae
- Pocketing for reduced weight
